39th Aydın Doğan International Cartoon Competition

The sentiment of tolerance is becoming ever more significant in the modern world whereby violence and discrimination threaten universal and ethical norms. Cartoons are among the fundamental building blocks of a society based on tolerance and prudence, open to different thoughts and beliefs. Held with this thought in mind, the Aydın Doğan International Cartoon Competition is renowned across the world as the “Oscar of Cartoons”.

This year, 570 cartoonists from 64 countries participated in the competition, which brings together artists from all over the world who bring different ideas and beliefs into cartoons and allows them to express their art, with a total of 1,365 works.

The Aydın Doğan International Cartoon Competition is organized every year in Turkey by the Aydın Doğan Foundation. The competition is open to professional and amateur cartoonists from all over the world. The Jury, composed of international members: Marco De Angelis (Italy) - President, Ercan Akyol (Türkiye), Angel Boligan Corbo (Cuba), Gürbüz Doğan Ekşioğlu (Türkiye), Saad Hajo (Syria), Piyale Madra (Türkiye), Tan Oral (Türkiye) and Yoshiaki Yokota (Japan).
